History

Brenntag UK & Ireland's history spans back to the mid-1970s, when in 1974 we started as Crystal Chemicals. In the two decades that followed, through many acquisitions, the company became Albion Chemicals in 2001. Another major turning point was in June 2006, which saw the acquisition of Albion Chemicals by the global Brenntag Group - although the company continued to operate under its existing 'Albion' brand. 2009 symbolises a new chapter for our company, as we fully embrace the name and brand of our parent company, to become Brenntag UK & Ireland.
