Chemical Safety Guidelines

Brenntag is committed to the safe handling, use and storage of all its products

 

  • Only competent persons who have received adequate training should be using chemicals.

 

  • Personal protective equipment should be worn whenever chemicals are being used or you are working in an area that contains chemicals. Your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) supplier will be able to advise as to what type of PPE is required.

 

 

As a minimum Brenntag recommends that:

 

PPE-symbols

Chemical resistant protective glasses preferably goggles should be worn, designed for the specific chemical and task.

 

Chemical resistant gloves should be worn at all times when handling chemicals or when working in an area that contains chemicals.

 

Chemical resistant footwear should be worn at all times when handling chemicals or when working in an area that contains chemicals.

 

Chemical resistant protective clothing should be worn.

 

Remember:

 

  • If you do not know what a product is, always treat it as hazardous.

  • Never use an unlabelled product.

  • Know the hazards of the product you are using and how to use the product safely.

  • Never mix chemicals together unless you are trained to do so.
