From 01 March 2009 the business of Albion Chemicals Group will become known as Brenntag UK & Ireland
The change fulfils a commitment to adopt the global brand identity introduced with the acquisition of Albion Chemicals by German-based Brenntag, the world’s largest chemicals distribution company, in 2006.
Albion Chemicals is the UK’s leading chemical distributor and a top 50 employer in Yorkshire. From Yorkshire headquarters the company operates a UK & Eire-wide network of local customer service depots, production and distribution facilities, which include sea-fed terminals on the Humber Estuary and in Northern Ireland.
“Rebranding to Brenntag UK & Ireland positions the business as a global leader in chemical distribution whilst allowing us to maintain our national identity and local customer service infrastructure,” says Managing Director Clare Waters.
“Brenntag is investing heavily in Albion’s UK operations and is committed to preserving our status as a successful UK market leader. However, being part of Brenntag significantly enhances our range of products and services and the routes to market we are able to offer to our UK customers and suppliers.”
The benefits to Albion of being part of a global business have already been evident in the investment in a dedicated sales and marketing distribution centre in Liverpool, and the recently announced plans for a new production facility at Swansea.
By March 1st, the change to a Brenntag UK & Ireland identity will be completed across all UK & Irish divisions formerly operating as Albion Chemicals. This will not affect Albion’s operational management and its regional UK depot network will remain intact.
